Welcome to my portfolio. I have decided to forego
the bells and whistles that often accompany a design portfolio. Instead, let
me show you my work.

May 13, 2005 My first flash animated short... from about 3 years ago. I ripped the music out and haven't replaced it. For now, it is just an academic exercise. Some of the visuals are nice. |

May 13, 2005 Puting this up for my homies... This is a heavy-metal homage stencil. My friend Michael wanted a shirt that said poop, and he didn't specify how to spell it. Thats what you get for not being specific. |

May 12, 2005 Burning another copy of the DVD for Pete Oliverio & Associates. It is a short DVD, but it makes a point. He is an amazing architect, and the home he designed was breathtaking. The link is to his site. |

May 11, 2005 Making another disc golf disc, this time for the West Virginia Disc Golf Association. Reasonably simple design, and a customer who knew exactly what he wanted. I like my job. |

May 4, 2005 Martin Sheen, the star of The West Wing on tv, does a good job. This is for my Girl, Tiffi, who thinks he's hot for an old guy. |

May 2, 2005 Still playing with this idea, now that it is published, I am copyrighting it. This image and all images not owned by someone else are © Copyright 2005 Michael Anderson. All rights reserved. When I print the shirts, I will link to where you can buy one. |

April 30, 2005 I seem to have offended the Newbold group by playing with their logo, oh well... lesson learned. Don't offer services without being solicited to do so. |

April 18, 2005 In an effort to make room to move my desk, I finally kicked some of my pack-rat tendancies—much to the delight of the cats that are running wild in the house. I counted 4 systems, give or take, and those are with scanners. A lamp that almost burned down the house is in there... if you can imaging this was the 2nd week of cleaning. Wow. |

April 11, 2005 While rearranging my home office, I was told that my online résumé didn't work... uh oh. So, I looked on several different machines and came to the realization that the é character was an issue with some operating systems and browser configuations... I am not naming any names... you know who you are. I have fixed the problem, I hope. :) |

March 30, 2005 Simplicity, and ease of reading at a distance, were the primary factors when redesigning the name of a sports bar, probably the biggest sports bar, in northern WV. The gentleman that I worked with wanted painless and simple, so that is what it is. |

March 28, 2005 Whilst on "vacation" from work I decided to dig through the old files that I was transferring to my archive, and came across this little number. I am going to try to get away from neon now, and I am not liking the tendancy torward unused work. I made this for a website that never happened. Like the Bill's menu, it is all vector and is infinitly scalable with no loss in image quality. |

March 20, 2005 When discussing the cool logo of a local eating establishment, I heard they needed a menu cover, and I thought to my self, "Self, I would like to do that job." It may end up being Pro Bono, but it's cool. I wanted to convey the lounge atmosphere of the logo without hinting to the actual look of the joint. It is all about atmosphere. |
|
| February 25, 2005 I needed to combine the idea of a miner, film making, and the hills of appalachia in a logo. This is a preliminary just to feel out the client. After realizing that it would be necessary to tie it to an older image, I researched some industrial logos from the art deco period to capture a specific flavor. There is already a strong visual statement with everything except the brick buildings that would be an old warehouse or theater. |

| February 24, 2005 I am hopefully going to be making cast shirts for the Rocky Horror Show at Fairmont State University. I think I am going to be just covering my cost on this one, but I really like the design. Based on the movie poster, not my original idea, just an interpretation in two colors. Click for preview. Contact me if you are in the cast and want one. UPDATE: Shirts printed, they look great, thanks to Jessica at www.mammothprintshop.com they rock. Tell 'em I sent ya. |

| February 20, 2005 Mike and Lorie asked for a "user friendly" drink menu, so I "poured" over " The Visual Display of Quantitative Information" by Edward Tufte until I arrived at a solution. Just kidding. IT'S DOWNLOADABLE! |
||
| February 15, 2005 The show opening went well. I want to give props to my friends who attended, Lorie and Michael for being gracious enough to host at the B'n'B, my Mom and our friend Donna for being supportive and making the trip to Fairmont, and Tiffani, for being so helpful and supportive. To show my ever increasing good-will to the public, I am making an otherwise inside joke available to you. This is the certificate of redundancy certificate. Use it according to its use. |

February
2 , 2005 Getting my press kit ready, here is a poster that is downloadable for my show. If you want to come or promote it... here it is. There are a few inside jokes on it, but it's kinda funny anyway. After Feb. this will be available in the desktops/downloads section. Right-click OR Cntl+click to download to disk. |

28, 2005 When I first started working for Brother Bill, I took a digital pic of the coffee shop. I spent a little time outlining it here and there... I found it when filing my pieces for the show. Illustrator. I am giving it to Michael & Lorie, the owners, for everything they have done for me over the years. Definitely in the show. |

21, 2005 In searching for a job, and I am constantly reminded of my adaptation to new surroundings. I am not worried about being in a new job, just about finding one. My friend asked if I were ready to strike out on my own and do freelance full time.. I don't know. This is going in the show. Illustrator. |
||
January
16, 2005 My friend Kris called. He wants to show me his recording studio, and I am going over later. I put together a logo for him based on the name of his place. Illustrator and Photoshop. |

11, 2005 New Year, back from the cruise.. Finalized a pro bono scorecard for a gentleman in Fairmont. Never played disc golf.. but it sounds fun. Designed in InDesign, map in Illustrator from county map (provided). UPDATE: The scorecards should soon be downloadable at: www.mcparc.com, Get them while they are hot. |

9, 2005 Trying to get this done. Haven't contacted the box company yet. Pieces are Blue and Gold. :) Designed in Illustrator. The WVU logo and name are all © Copyright 2005 West Virginia University |

December,
2004 Well Gearing up for the cruise and getting things done. Fun stuff for the Bean.. I needed a design-stress-release. |
||
| December,
2004 I received a copy of the book that I laid out for the Forest Service. It is named (deep breath) " Invasive Plants of Asian Origin Established in the United States and Their Natural Enemies" Volume I. Gotta love the Gov'm't. Laid out with InDesign 2, I've since upgraded. |
||
December,
2004 Bob decided that I would be making a flash ecard for him and his upcoming projects. I like flash.. and this was a fun gig all around. I think I am going to be team-teaching a class with him next term. This was once again, Flash MX 2004 with Pshop and Audition for the audio editing. Click on the Christmas card. |
||
December,
2004 Finalized my Gavin Power plant piece ( I think) the show is coming quickly. This is an Illustrator/Photoshop poster.. for the show. It's about power, and who has it. Caution: Large Graphic |
||
| December,
2004 I have decided on the flyer, I think, it is a little.. um.. ego-maniacal? Well, maybe I WON'T use it. Illustrator and a wonderful little proggie called ASCGEN helped me with this. I don't know what postcessors are, but they should be the opposite of processors? And Predecessors? I would like to do some very large posters like this of human studies, I would steal images, but I would rather take my own. I am looking for volunteers, nudity may be involved. Professionalism is paramount. |
||
| December,
2004 Prolific month, as far as publishable material goes. This piece has effectively stalled, I hoped that it would be show material.. but the concept may play out in another.. more asian influenced work. Unless I can get an image of a school bus (the yellow cube) at the correct angle, and children playing, soon. Illustrator, my tool of choice for this one, with some crucial photoshop. |

2004 A friend just landed a sweet contract for large format printing/advertising. So, I am going to be setting up larger files and maybe traveling to far off places. Here is an example that I am sending off to be considered. I don't think I will get the contract. But I like the illustration. Done with Illustrator. The wisp logo is © Copyright 2004 Wisp Resort, Inc. |

2004 My Buddy Bob landed me a gig with a comic book writer and artist to make a flash trailer for "Frankenstein Mobster," and I have provided a link for it here. When it eventually goes away from cyberspace, I will provided it here. This was created with his art and edited in Photoshop into Flash MX 2004. I synced the music with the art Keyframes under Bob's supervision. |

2004 I have my film scanner working, but my cord is SHORT. I scanned my negatives from NY a few years ago and found some nice images. A trip to NY is like a pilgrimage, no matter what your interests. I love the first art movements of the 20th so the Guggenheim is breathtaking. I took the photo and decided to build a poster with it. I wanted the smooth foreground with the Punk rock flavor of the thresholded building in the background. My tools were my Olympus, Photoshop, and as always, Illustrator. Thanks Frank LLoyd Wright. This is going in the show. |
